Bear Grylls has announced that his latest project will be an attempt to survive an appearance on the ABC’s 7.30 program.
Grylls’ wildly popular television series ‘Man vs Wild’ features Bear parachuting into remote or dangerous regions and being tasked with making it out alive.
Grylls said 7.30 was chosen as the location for his next challenge because it was one of the last truly unforgiving environments remaining on earth.
“It’s an untamed region, make just one small slip and you’ll be utterly destroyed’ Grylls said of the ABC current affairs program.
“More people have climbed Mount Everest than have successfully survived an interview with Leigh Sales,” Grylls told reporters at an appearance in Sydney to promote the challenge.
“I travel to the most dangerous parts of the planet, in search of the most extreme challenges, so naturally facing Leigh Sales was high on my to-do list”.
Bear will be equipped with his usual survival equipment and basic clothing for the encounter but says that he will need all the help he can get if he is going to emerge without being eviscerated.
“I’ve faced grizzly bears, I’ve been attacked by alligators, I’ve eaten insects and drunk my own urine, but this will be the truest test of character I’ve ever experienced” Grylls said.
The episode will air on SBS in January next year.
