Tony Abbott has put an end to a week of leadership speculation by challenging himself for the position overnight.
“It was a captain’s call,” Mr Abbott said.
“I decided the constant speculation and distraction had to end so I called for nominees around the dinner table last night.”
Mr Abbott said only he and the incumbent nominated.
“Margie and Peta voted and I am thankful to have came out on top.” Mr Abbott said.
Mr Abbott said his first act as the new leader would be to knight his dog and then use a captain’s call to outlaw captain’s picks.
